Travel Channel’s Delicious Destination “Baltimore” starts to air Tuesday, October 18th

The ever so quirky and food curious Andrew Zimmern’s show Bizarre Foods Delicious Destinations was in Baltimore a couple months ago filming for a focused look at iconic Baltimore foods.  The episode will start airing on the Travel Channel starting Tuesday, October 18th at 9 p.m. with encore performances Wednesday, October 19th at 12 a.m., Sunday, October 23rd at 4 p.m., Monday, October 24th at 9:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 25th 12:30 a.m. and Tuesday, November 8th at 2 p.m. (times are East Coast)  and probably have a life of its own online.

What do you believe are our iconic foods? Zimmern’s people had reached out to me to review their list and see what they might be missing.  Baltimore’s iconic foods for me are chocolate snowballs with marshmallow topping, coddies, Berger cookies, Goetzes Caramel Creams, pit beef, steamed crabs, crab cakes, hard fry crabs, and rainbow cake.

So where did the film crew go? Attman’s Deli on Lombard Street I know for sure because I was there for the filming and interviewed - how much of me you see will be up to what was left on the cutting room floor.  You can expect to see Lexington Market – Faidleys, Berger Cookies and Chaps Beef from the episode’s description plus a couple other stops along their way.
