Black and Decker recently introduced their 5 Minute Pizza Oven
& Snack Maker to the general public. The sleek stainless steel counter top
oven can heat up to 650 degrees Fahrenheit, 150 degrees hotter than any
conventional oven and preheat in half the time of your traditional oven. What does that mean to you, the consumer, the
pizza lover – a 12 inch pizza, fresh or frozen in half the time.
Being food curious, the folks at Black and Decker sent me the 5
Minute Pizza Oven & Snack Maker to test out. We are mainly frozen pizza eaters in our
house, we like a specific brand, Dr.
Oetker Ristorante Pizza Mozzarella with a thin crust – we’ve tried others,
this is our favorite. With the multiple
settings, I chose the thin crust setting which is 650 degrees, turned the timer
past 10 minutes to get the oven, preheat for 5 minutes and bake the remaining
five minutes. I used the accompanying
handle to pull out the preheated ceramic tray and put our frozen pizza in to
cook for 5 minutes, where as in my regular oven it would have been 12 minutes. As recommended by Black and Decker and
myself, it is best to wear oven mitts for your safety.
