As we start settling into local wine harvest here in
Maryland, a dream comes true for one local winery, a new production facility
five years in the making is unveiled to local dignitaries, press and family.
Boordy Vineyards, the oldest winery in Maryland, 68 years old, held its
official vine cutting ceremony officially inaugurating their state of the art
winery.
One of the goals with the new building was to keep the same
aesthetics of a 19th century barn where as the interior houses
thirty-two new stainless fermentation tanks that incorporate state-of-the-art
technology for optimum wine. A new laboratory and temperature controlled room
for bottled wine storage were also created.
